His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, led the Kingdom's delegation at the fifth session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Labor of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The conference took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 21 to 23 of the current year.

The Kingdom's delegation included His Excellency the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Essam bin Saleh Al Jatili.

The conference discussed various topics on its agenda, including the Director-General's report, innovative solutions, digitization of labor and employment services in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The conference commenced with a statement by the Kingdom, represented by Dr. Abdullah Abuthnain, who served as the previous session's chairman. In his speech, he highlighted the developments in the Kingdom's labor market, the positive results achieved in key market indicators, and initiatives focusing on the professional development of national cadres, such as skill acceleration and training vouchers. He also mentioned the initiative to establish sectoral skills councils with private sector participation, aiming to plan and develop skills in 12 key economic sectors.

Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor presented several initiatives related to health, occupational safety, and the development of the work environment. The Kingdom's delegation also participated in the opening of the General Assembly of the Labor Center for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, where the Kingdom was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the General Assembly for one year and the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of the Labor Center for three years.

It is worth mentioning that the center is a new specialized entity affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, tasked with implementing the organization's decisions and programs in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection.
