With the aim of formulating a comprehensive and integrated public policy that enhances the role of youth in Saudi society, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development launched the Youth Development Strategy at the beginning of this year, 2024. This strategy works to empower youth in the social development sector and coordinate efforts among various relevant parties within a unified system, thereby contributing effectively to achieving common goals.
As part of this initiative, the General Directorate of Youth Development organized a series of workshops in various regions of the Kingdom to formulate a public policy for youth development. Numerous workshops were held in major cities across the Kingdom, including Riyadh, Makkah, Dammam, Jouf, Tabuk, and Abha. These workshops witnessed a significant turnout, reflecting the keen interest of the local community, with over 579 participants. The Ministry's workshops targeted diverse youth groups, reflecting its commitment to gathering the opinions and aspirations of young people and engaging youth associations, government, and private sector entities. The age group of 15 to 39 years was the most represented, constituting 68% of the total attendance.
It's worth noting that this strategy was launched by the ministry at the beginning of the year under the slogan "Our Youth are Wealth," aiming to empower youth and provide them with opportunities to achieve their goals and contribute effectively to national development. This strategy was developed in collaboration with over 30 government and private entities, reflecting the importance of public-private partnerships in delivering diverse programs that enhance youth participation in decision-making.
The strategy aims to achieve 10 primary objectives, including enhancing youth contribution to development through its diverse initiatives and projects. It covers all segments of youth, as the ministry strives to provide safe and suitable environments to improve youth quality of life and increase their community participation. This reflects the commitment to improving living conditions for young people in the Kingdom. This strategy is part of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to create a supportive environment for youth growth and development, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to a bright future for its youth. This is a reflection of the leadership's ambitious vision to empower youth as a key element in achieving sustainable development, affirming the importance of their integration into economic and social life, making them an active part in building the Kingdom's future.
