"العمل والتنمية الاجتماعية" تنفذ 615 زيارة تفتيشية على قطاع الإيواء السياحي وتضبط 134 مخالفة

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) announced on Sunday its department of inspection and development of work environment conducted several inspection rounds on the tourist accommodation sector.

The rounds included hotels and furnished units and apartments in various regions of the Kingdom to ensure they comply with the nationalization decisions, particularly keeping receptionist jobs exclusive for Saudi nationals.

The inspection teams detected 134 violations relating to the decision after they visited 615 tourism facilities across the Kingdom.

In the respect, MLSD spokesman Khaled Abalkhail clarified the Madinah Region recorded the highest number of visits at 133, followed by the Tabuk Region (131), the Eastern Region (79) and the Makkah Region (74).

Abalkhail continued the Riyadh Region came in the fifth place in the number of visits at 73, followed by the Ha’il Region (26), the Asir Region (24) and the Jouf Region (21).

The spokesman added that the number of visits in the Regions of Jazan, Najran, Baha and al-Qassim came next to 18,12,10 and 9, respectively, whereas the Norther Borders came last with only 5 inspection visits.

The spokesman said: ‘the ministry continues to launch its inspection campaigns on a number of sectors including the tourist accommodation to ensure their adherence to the nationalization decision’.

He stressed the ministry is keen to create job opportunities for Saudi men and women who wish to join the sector, highlighting the ministry efforts in nationalizing vital sectors will contribute to achieving the ambitious plan of Saudi Vision 2030 and raising participation of Saudi nationals in the workforce.

On the other hand, Abalkhail urged customers to cooperate with the ministry and report labor violations through the ‘Ma3an Lil Rasd’ app or contact the unified customer service no. (19911), assuring all reports would be dealt with a prompt respond as the ministry seeks to improve, develop and regulate the labor sector.
