المملكة تحصل على مقعد عضو مناوب في مجلس الإدارة لمنظمة العمل الدولية لمدة 3 سنوات

The Saudi Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) won a three-year deputy seat on the Governing Body of the International Labor Organization (ILO) on Monday.
The winning seat came on the sidelines of the 106th Session of the International Labor Conference held at Palais des Nations in Geneva.
The election was carried out on the afternoon of Monday to elect 24 candidates of government groups representing four regions: Africa, Americas, Asia and The Pacific and Europe.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia earned 168 votes of the total casted votes (253) to become a non-regular member that represents Asia countries for 2017-2020.
Meanwhile, the ILO deputy membership allows the elected countries to take decisions on ILO policy, decide the agenda of the International Labor Conference, adopt the draft program and budget of the organization for submission to the ILC, and elect the Director-General.
H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis headed the Saudi delegation to the current session of the conference that occur from 5 June till 16. The high-ranking delegates include resent government members, workers and employers
The International Labour Organization (ILO) was established in 1919 under the Economic and Social Council, one of the United Nations six main bodies. It supervises implementation of several labor programs including domestic labor, gender equality, forced labor, inspection, occupational safety and health, working hours and among others.
