The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, in coordination with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, announces the expiration of the period specified for the implementation of Ministerial Resolution No. (3337) dated 15/07/1435 AH, which prohibited work under the sun in all establishments, which lasted three months from Thursday Dhul-Qi’dah 26, 1444 AH corresponding to June 15 2023 AD, up to day, Friday Safar 30, 1445 AH corresponding to September 15 2023 AD. 

This resolution was made by the Ministry of HRSD and the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health to maintain the safety and health of employees and provide a healthy and safe working environment, in accordance with the requirements of occupational safety and health.

The establishments' compliance with the implementation of the resolution banning working in the sun for this year reached 95%. The Ministry worked in coordination with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, during the period of implementation of the resolution, to direct employers to the necessity of regulating working hours and taking into account what was stipulated in such resolution. To reduce occupational injuries and diseases, it also worked on disseminating media campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of implementing the resolution; holding various awareness workshops for employers and employees, in addition to conducting a number of field supervisory tours to ensure that establishments in all regions of the Kingdom comply with the resolution.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has established the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health as one of its initiatives in the National Transformation Program 2020 AD, within the Saudi Vision 2030 AD, to develop the realities of occupational safety and health practices in the Kingdom, reaching a distinctive working environment and an attractive labor market, based on the application of the best practices standards as well as the most prominent relevant international practices in the field of occupational safety and health and the work environment.
