H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser al-Ghafis signed on Monday minutes of the meeting on the recruitment of Indonesian domestic workers with H.E. Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia M. Hanif Dhakiri in Jeddah.
The signing ceremony was attended by a number of both ministries’ officials who discussed matters to enhance labor cooperation and develop a joint mechanism between the brotherly countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Indonesian delegation extended its appreciation for the new policies and initiatives taken by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in governing the placement and protection of foreign workers.
Additionally, the Saudi Arabian delegation explained steps and policies that have been taken by the Kingdom to develop recruitment processes, resolve issues that face the placement of domestic workers and improve related procedures which can benefit both countries.
Both sides agreed to link the recruitment procedures through the electronic system ‘Musaned’ which ensures an effective data sharing between the two countries, as well as finding a placement mechanism to verify Indonesian recruitment agencies and Saudi recruitment offices and companies.
The two sides agreed to activate related procedures, set up a labor attaché in Jakarta and exchange experiences in the field of evaluating recruitment agencies in both countries.
