The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced the start of the third phase of contract documentation, obligating establishments to document 80% of employee contracts through "Qiwa" platform by the end of next September.

This service aims to protect the rights of contractual parties, provide a working environment that promotes employee stability and productivity, ensure establishments' compliance with labor laws and regulations, verify contract data accuracy, and reduce labor disputes and issues.

The ministry has specified the required compliance percentages for contract documentation based on the total number of employees in each establishment in each quarter of 2023. It emphasizes the necessity for establishments to adhere to the required documentation percentages to achieve the service's objectives and ensure the protection of contractual parties' rights.

The Ministry emphasized that establishments that do not comply with the required documentation percentages may be subject to penalties stipulated in the applicable regulations and legislations.

The "Contract Documentation Service" allows employers to upload and update data related to the contracts of employees in the private sector, whether they are Saudi or non-Saudi. It also enables employees to verify the accuracy of their contract data, approve, reject, or request modifications to the contract through their accounts on "Qiwa" platform. If both parties agree, the contract is considered documented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, through "Qiwa" platform, aims to provide all work system services digitally and safeguard the rights of contractual parties (employers and employees) while ensuring a stable and attractive working environment.
