
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) said 150 establishments have earned the ‘Mowaamah’ certificates aiming to adopt the best practices and standards in preparing the work environment in order to be more inclusive and supportive for persons with disabilities. Spokesman of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development Khaled Abalkhail said the ‘Mowaamah’ program which comes under the ‘Tawafuq’ Empowerment for Employment for Persons with Disabilities Program aims to support and empower workers in the private sector through highlighting the benefits of employing PwD employment and allowing the establishments to adopt the best practices in preparing a disability-friendly environment, as well as generating job opportunities for PwD. Abalkhail clarified that subscribing with the program is optional for the establishments that want to develop their work environments and obtain approved certificates, in addition to those striving to make sure their employees with disabilities work in a disability-friendly environment as well as support them. The spokesman stressed the establishment with Mowaamah certificates will benefit from counting the person with disability as four workers in the Nationalization Program ‘Nitaqat’ as per its conditions and the ministerial decision no. 3249. Abalkhail said, according to the conditions that will be issued in the upcoming period, these establishments will be rewarded by the ministry as the establishments will utilize capabilities and skills of the persons with disabilities, pointing out the establishments can earn the ‘Mowaamah’ certificates though applying online via www.Mowaamah.com.
