The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) released last Wednesday lump-sum payments to the social security beneficiaries. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shafiei, deputy minister for social security at the ministry, said a total of SR501,179,658 was transferred to the beneficiaries who are registered under the lump-sum support program, clarifying the number of eligible cases who received the payments stood at 37,668 cases including those from the waitlist who obtained approval. The ministry deposits the lump-sum payments directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, the deputy minister for social security added. Dr. Al- Shafiei emphasized the lump-sum support program comes as part of the support programs that the social security department provides for eligible cases with the aim of improving the living conditions for low-income individuals, mostly social security beneficiaries.
