H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development launched on Thursday in Riyadh the ‘Makeen’ platform aiming to easily allow workers in the nonprofit sector and legal accountants to access regulations, systems and models relating to the governance of the sector via customized pathways that provide awareness and fit each individual’s requirements.
The launching ceremony which took place at the ministry’s HQ unveils the service as part of the efforts exerted in the fields of developing the nonprofit sector and raising awareness and transparency among its practitioner as per Saudi Vision 2030.
Eng. AbdulRahamn Al-Mutairi, deputy minister for social development sector at MLSD, clarified the website comes as part of the previously-initiated e-services and specialized platforms aiming to serve the nonprofit sector and achieve sustainable development, as well as spreading awareness of the sector with enhancing transparency and accountability.
The deputy minister for social development sector pointed out the ‘Makeen’ platform offers a raft of laws and electronic models with utilizing comprehensive and easy forms for all members of the general assembly councils, boards of directors, legal accountants and governance supervisors at the development centers.
Each stakeholder can clearly review things related to his work via the platform, including objectives, responsibilities and required results, as well as recognizing his relation to other influential stakeholders with reviewing related systems and models, Al-Mutairi added.
The deputy minister said that anyone who wants to set up a nonprofit organization can visit the platform and have a closer look at roles and responsibilities assigned to each individual in the organization. It helps educate them with objectives, requirements and governance mechanisms prior to the establishment phase of NPO, he added as well.
Additionally, the platform provides a link for the stakeholders to disclose administrative, operational and financial data for NPOs as visitors can review such data that is periodically updated through the website (https://makeen.mlsd.gov.sa/).
