The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has stressed the importance of adhering to the updated regulations for domestic workers and those in similar roles, which have recently come into effect. This step aims to enhance an attractive working environment and safeguard the rights of all concerned parties. The update is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve the recruitment sector and regulate the contractual relationship between employers and domestic workers, ensuring reduced disputes and greater job stability.

The ministry clarified that the updated regulations provide greater clarity on the contractual relationship by defining the obligations and rights of both employers and domestic workers. The regulations specify working hours and rest periods and establish clear guidelines for contract termination or dissolution. These provisions are designed to offer practical guidance that ensures the rights of all parties and facilitates contractual and legal procedures in case of disputes.

The amendments also introduce new definitions and provisions aimed at minimizing conflicts and ensuring fairness in legal proceedings. Additionally, the regulations stipulate penalties and fines for violations of the prescribed rules to ensure compliance by all parties while maintaining a fair balance between rights and responsibilities. The ministry urged all relevant stakeholders to review the updated regulations on its official website and emphasized the necessity of compliance to avoid potential penalties.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry has launched “Musaned” platform as a pioneering initiative to develop the recruitment sector in the Kingdom. The platform offers various services to streamline the recruitment process, address complaints and disputes between contractual parties, and fully safeguard their rights. This initiative aligns with the ministry’s vision to enhance the working environment in the Kingdom, ensure the sustainability of contractual relationships, and build trust among all parties. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to improving the competitiveness of the labor market and enhancing its efficiency by aligning with both international and local standards.
