The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development participated as part of the Kingdom's delegation in the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), held from July 8-18, 2024, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, United States of America. The Kingdom's delegation is headed by His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Planning, with the participation of representatives from several entities. The Ministry's delegation is represented by His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Ministerial Committee for the Social Support and Assistance System, Mr. Bader bin Hamid Al-Anzi.

During his intervention at the forum, Secretary-General Al-Anzi reviewed a number of topics related to the Kingdom's achievements during the past years, including the increase in the percentage of women's empowerment, the increase in the percentage of jobs for those entitled to support, the launch of comprehensive assessment tools for people with disabilities to determine their special needs and provide them with support in accordance with their social conditions, and the preparation of a comprehensive social protection strategy that aims to empower citizens and eliminate poverty by benefiting from best practices.

It is worth mentioning that the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) holds its meeting annually at the United Nations headquarters, with the aim of presenting the efforts of countries to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan. This year's forum came under the title:  "Enhancing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises:  Effective implementation of sustainable and resilient innovative solutions."
