The Ministry of Labor and Social Development signed on Wednesday an information sharing agreement with the General Authority for Zakat and Tax, which took place at the ministry’s HQ in Riyadh.

It aims to enhance cooperation between the two entities and implement a suitable mechanism that allows them to obtain data they need to carry out their tasks and specialties.

The signing ceremony was led by Mr. Ahmed Al-Humaidan, vice minister of labor and social development, and Eng. Suhail Abanmi, governor of GAZT.

The agreement comes within the ministry and GAZT’s keenness to jointly share information on provision of e-services through verification, following up and integration as they share same goals to implement awareness and education programs that urge establishments to submit Zakat and income statements to avoid penalties.

Both entities offered a presentation that shed light on services needed to be developed and launched jointly with other automatic systems, as well as information required by each party.

The agreement includes exchange of information between the two sides in the fields of verification, following up and data-updating, which is necessary to integrate information with the systems.

Such integration would avoid mistakes in entering data and verifying conformity of data provided by each party, playing a crucial role in launching and facilities e-services for Saudi citizens and unifying data used for the purpose of the study, the ministry said.

According to the agreement, both parties would be linked via government secure network (GSN) or government service bus (GSB) offered by the e-Government Program (Yesser), or else they are directly connected.

Meanwhile, the agreement comes as part of both sectors’ efforts in achieving integrated work that regulates implementation of joint tasks, offers technical, legal and procedural support between the two sides and provides accurate data when they exchange information through coordinating with specialized departments.
