His Excellency, Vice Minister for the Labor Sector, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Thaneen, participated in the Growth Summit 2023, which was held on May 2-3, 2023, at the headquarters of the World Economic Forum in Geneva.
His Excellency spoke in a session entitled "Towards a Better Future for Work". He pointed out the importance of supporting the quality of jobs in the labor markets, which in turn leads to raising productivity, innovation and employee satisfaction. During the session, His Excellency also reviewed some of the achievements and reforms of the Saudi labor market in terms of workforce growth and increasing women's participation, which exceeded targets.
His Excellency also touched on a number of important initiatives and developments in the Saudi labor market, including the job creation index, the supply and demand foresight unit, the skills strategy, the skills accelerator initiative and training vouchers. His Excellency also referred to the latest developments in supporting and encouraging modern work patterns in the labor market.
The Summit aims to discuss ways to confront current challenges and enhance future opportunities in the global economy, by focusing on main axes related to enabling flexible growth, developing human capital, and accelerating access to a fair economy.
It is noteworthy that the Summit brought together a number of leaders of the labor sector, the government sector, civil society, international organizations, as well as the academic community, in order to discuss ways to face current challenges and enhance future opportunities in the global economy.
