
The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has been named the Best Arab Ministry at the 2024 Arab Government Excellence Award ceremony, held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Egypt today. This award recognizes the Ministry's significant achievements, which align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, and highlights its prominent role in advancing the Kingdom’s labor market and social development initiatives.
His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development highlighted that this award draws attention to the Ministry’s strong commitment to achieving the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. He emphasized the Ministry’s efforts in creating an exceptional work environment and enhancing the labor market's appeal. He also commended the remarkable work and dedication of the Ministry’s staff in advancing the labor market and society through skilled national talent, an integrated leadership team, strategic partnerships, and the adoption of effective management practices, services, and digital technologies aligned with global best practices.
Additionally, the Minister emphasized the pioneering role the Ministry has played in shaping labor and worker policies for both the public and private sectors, as well as its contributions to social development initiatives aligned with the Saudi government’s vision and policies. He further highlighted the Ministry’s focus on enhancing its operating model and organizational structure to align with its strategy and responsibilities, enhancing effectiveness and balance workloads. His Excellency noted that the Ministry’s efforts have been recognized by international and regional awards, including the King Abdulaziz Quality Award, the Arab Government Excellence Award, and the European Excellence Model.
Looking ahead, His Excellency stated that the Ministry will continue its efforts to develop the labor market through sustainable Saudization strategies and the launch of new programs that integrate economic growth with social development. He reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to digital transformation, updating regulations, and empowering the workforce through innovative training programs in collaboration with local and international educational institutions, aligning with labor market needs and emphasizing the development of national human capital as a cornerstone for progress.
In a related context, the Ministry has already achieved significant milestones, including implementing a digital transformation program to automate processes and services, supported by regular assessments and improvements based on advanced performance metrics and methodologies. It launched the Business Intelligence Center to apply artificial intelligence in decision-making and beneficiary support, encouraged innovation through the "Mulhem" platform for governance of creative ideas, and hosted major events such as the International Labor Market Conference, the Global CSR Forum, and the 2022 Conference on Innovation and the Future of Government Work. At the same time, HRSD is driving a comprehensive transformation in human resources management across the Kingdom by advancing its operating model, enhancing financial planning, and optimizing spending efficiency.
The Arab Government Excellence Award is the first and largest initiative in the Arab world dedicated to development, improvement, and administrative excellence. It was launched by the UAE government in collaboration with the League of Arab States to promote administrative development, institutional excellence, leadership, and the celebration of successful governmental practices across the Arab world.
Notably, the Ministry has met numerous criteria to earn this award, including the Kingdom’s high rankings in various global indices related to women empowerment, enhancing compliance with regulations, and driving digital transformation. The Ministry also conducted comprehensive analyses and adopted global best practices in policymaking for labor systems and social affairs, reflecting its innovative and leading role in delivering services and developmental initiatives.
