
A number of ambassadors and consular representatives praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts to safeguard the rights of workers and employers in a balanced manner, during their speech at the ceremony organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to honor the parties contributing to the launch of the insurance service for “domestic” worker contracts, in the presence of a number of officials of relevant government agencies such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Insurance Authority, Human Rights Commission, General Directorate of Passports, National Information Center, Absher platform, and a number of heads of insurance companies.
The ceremony witnessed the presence and representation of (15) embassies and consulates of the countries exporting support labor, including (9) ambassadors and charge d'affaires from the countries of Ethiopia, Uganda, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Nepal, and representatives from the countries of Indonesia, Djibouti, Sudan, the Philippines, Egypt, and India, during the ceremony, the ambassador of the Republic of Pakistan noted the Kingdom's initiatives in this regard, saying: “I believe that the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken many distinguished steps to ensure care for expatriate workers and facilitate them in various fields.” The ambassador of the Republic of Kenya expressed his thanks to the Kingdom for this initiative, pointing out the advantages of the Musaned system in terms of providing comfort for workers coming to the Kingdom, and improving contracting procedures between workers and employers, saying: “You have made our Kenyan people very comfortable when coming to Saudi Arabia, because they know what they came for and what they will encounter and when they will leave, so the automation really protects their rights. “The Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Ethiopia praised the automation of all services on the Musaned platform, starting from submission to the authentication procedures, saying, “All services have become easy and digitally.” The Ambassador of the Republic of Sri Lanka described the insurance service as “a very important initiative for expatriate workers to the Kingdom, expressing his appreciation as a Sri Lankan citizen for all these efforts made by Saudi Arabia in this field.” The Ambassador of the Republic of Tanzania said about the ceremony, “This event is considered very useful and important because it brings together labor-sending countries and receiving countries, so it is a historic event.” The Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Uganda also addressed the importance of the insurance service for support labor contracts in preserving the rights of expatriate workers, praising the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for launching such initiatives to preserve the rights of workers and employers. In addition, the ceremony reviewed initiatives that support workers' rights, such as wage protection, contract documentation, and electronic complaint channels.
It is noteworthy that the joint efforts have resulted in achieving many successes, as the number of insured workers has reached more than 500,000 contracts since the launch of the service, and the “Musaned Platform” has achieved many successes, including the first place in the beneficiary satisfaction index for 2024 at the level of the Kingdom issued by the Digital Government Authority, in addition to receiving wide international praise from prestigious organizations such as the International Labor Organization (ILO), which contributed significantly to enhancing the attractiveness of support labor recruitment in the Kingdom and consolidating its position as a preferred destination for skilled workers at the global level. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, through the launch and operation of the “Insurance for Support Labor Contracts” service and the cooperative insurance companies and its automation in Musaned platform, seeks to improve the beneficiary's journey and facilitate easy access to support labor services.
