The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has qualified as a finalist for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS Prizes 2024) in two categories, an achievement that reflects the Ministry's deep commitment to excellence and innovation in providing digital services and achieving sustainable development goals.

Nominated in the E-government category, the Ministry is participating in the award with the Qiwa platform, which aims to improve the quality of e-government services and contribute to enhancing transparency and efficiency, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to decent work and economic growth. The second project, 'Wage Protection System', nominated in the E-business category, aims to promote economic justice and protect labour rights, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals related to decent work and economic growth.

The Ministry's participation in this award comes as part of its digital transformation strategy that aims to enhance efficiency and sustainability in various sectors, employing the latest technologies and using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the experience of beneficiaries.

This qualification highlights the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to promote digital transformation. It reflects the Kingdom's commitment to developing innovative solutions that serve humanity and contribute to building a more sustainable future, and is evidence of the Ministry's strong commitment and visionary approach to developing digital services and systems and integrating technology to solve socio-economic challenges.

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS Prizes 2024) is an initiative of the United Nations International Telecommunication Union (ITU) that focuses on the use of technologies to support sustainable development, while the WSIS Forum is one of the most important annual gatherings and a global platform for presenting innovations that contribute to building an inclusive and sustainable information society. It recognizes outstanding programs and projects in various categories.
