The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars to strengthen cooperation in advisory, organizational, and scientific aspects, and to provide Sharia advice on related topics and issues. His Excellency Dr. Fahad bin Saad Al-Majid, Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, represented the General Secretariat in signing the memorandum of understanding, while Engineer Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Jaris, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Social Development and the Ministry's representative, signed on behalf of the Ministry.

The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation and develop the services provided to beneficiaries, promote joint collaboration in reviewing and developing social care services laws and legislations, work on issuing a guidance manual on issues and topics for which decisions or fatwas have been issued related to the elderly, people with disabilities, orphans and persons of similar status, social protection cases, juveniles, their companions, and service providers. It also aims to prepare scientific programs and open meetings with agency staff and beneficiaries of its services to enhance Sharia awareness and the way of dealing with special cases.

This memorandum comes within the framework of integration and cooperation between government institutions to serve the public interest and due to the common goals and objectives shared by these two institutions.
