
His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, during his participation in the dialogue session at the Global Health Forum 2024, praised the ambition and determination of the Saudi youth who have proven their high efficiency in the labor market, stressing his pride in the national cadres that abound in the health sector, which have proven their worth in the public and private sectors.
His Excellency explained that the labor market in the Kingdom continues to grow, attract and achieve historic and unprecedented leaps, as the number of Saudi workers in the private sector reached 2.34 million, in addition to the high participation rate of women to 35%, which reflects the achievement of one of the most important goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 at an early date.
His Excellency pointed out that 364,000 new male and female citizens have entered the labor market since the beginning of the current year 2024, which reflects the readiness and competence of Saudi youth, which means breaking the barrier of engaging in the labor market for new entrants.
Al-Rajhi indicated that during the past four years, the Ministry, in coordination with government agencies, has launched 50 qualitative decisions for localization in various fields, including the health sector and several other sectors, which contributed to achieving a historic decrease in the unemployment rate of Saudis to 7.1%, which reflects the great cooperation between all sectors and partners with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to move towards achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030.
Al Rajhi stressed the importance of the role of the non-profit sector, pointing out the need for significant investments. He explained that Saudi Vision 2030 aims to enable the non-profit sector to contribute 5% to the gross domestic product by 2030, noting that the number of non-profit organizations in the Kingdom reached 5,000 organizations, with an annual growth rate of 150%.
His Excellency praised the huge and unprecedented movement in the health sector, especially in terms of investments and local and foreign partnerships, concluding his speech by reviewing the Kingdom's achievements in the field of volunteering, and emphasizing the integration of the ministry's efforts with the governmental system and the private sector to achieve common goals.
