H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis met on Wednesday with member of strategic sectors committee and head of transportation committee at the Councils of Saudi Chambers in the Eastern Region Bander Al-Jabri alongside his accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by H.E Vice Minister of Labor and Social Development Ahmed Al-Humaidan, senior officials and investors in the sector.
In the beginning of meeting, Dr. Al-Ghafis emphasized the integrating relation between the ministry and the private sector as well as the importance of forming strategic partnership aiming to support the labor market and increase participation of national workforce in light of safe, stable, productive and motivating work environment.
The labor and social development minister pointed out the ministry is working on launching several initiatives and pathways in bid to regulate the labor market, support nationalization and remove obstacles that face private sector firms, which comes within the ambitious plan of National Transformation Program 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030.
Dr. Al-Ghafis said it is important to think seriously of the next phase to generate job opportunities that empower Saudis in the workforce, in addition to resolving imbalance in a number of jobs in the transportation sector.
A joint team will be formed between the ministry and representatives in the sector to determine expected scope of work that supports training and employment of Saudi nationals at transportation companies, Dr. Al-Ghafis said.
He clarified the ministry will pay undivided attention to all discussions at the meeting and carefully study them in order to develop the sector.
