His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, and Member of the Supreme Committee for Hosting the FIFA World Cup 2034, extended his heartfelt congratulations and blessings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister – may Allah guard them – as well as protect and keep them to the Saudi people, on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s successful bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. This comes following FIFA’s announcement on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, granting Saudi Arabia the honor of hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
His Excellency emphasized that this monumental achievement is a testament to the grace bestowed upon this proud nation by Allah and the limitless support and attention provided by its wise leadership across all sectors. This dedication is aimed at building a brighter future and advancing the country’s civilization. The Kingdom's bid received the highest evaluation in the tournament’s history, positioning it to host an exceptional and unprecedented edition of the World Cup. This achievement is made possible by Saudi Arabia’s remarkable infrastructure, massive resources, advanced facilities, and a highly skilled national workforce, showcasing the nation’s ability to inspire creativity and innovation on a global stage.
The Minister further highlighted the unique aspects of this exceptional edition, which will feature 48 teams for the first time, along with 134 training facilities in five host cities and ten supporting locations, distributed across 15 stadiums and 16 international airports. More than 230,000 hotel units will also be available to accommodate the event. He noted the vital role the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development will play, alongside relevant entities, in leveraging this occasion. This includes training and qualifying the national workforce in hosting, hospitality, event management, and related fields, creating thousands of job opportunities, and equipping the workforce with essential skills. The Ministry will also oversee the issuance of licenses and visas, ensuring an attractive and enabling work environment for businesses and workers. Additionally, the event will bolster social responsibility efforts, expand volunteering opportunities, foster partnerships with non-profit organizations, and enhance the private sector's role in contributing to the hosting effort.
