H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser al-Ghafis extends profuse thanks to the wise leadership in the light of the Council of Ministers’ approval on establishing family affairs council.
Al-Ghafis clarified the establishment of council comes within efforts to enhance the role of Saudi families in development of the society, contributing to their strength in raising children with Islam values and high ethics.
The council aims to lay out the strategy for Saudi families and establish a database that serves them, as well as seeking to be a formal entity representing women, families and children in international organizations.
The organization of the council unifies the efforts of all public sectors in tackling issues pertaining to children, women and old people as it is represented by various ministries, specialists and experts alongside the Human Rights Commission and the National Family Safety Program, al-Ghafis added.
The minister of labor and social development, who is chairman of the council, pointed out the structure has the general secretariat with three specialized committees with taskforce to follow up on the issues of children, women and elders.
He added these committees are tasked with proposing systems and awareness programs and monitoring the implementation of agreements and conventions ratified between the Kingdom and labor organizations, in addition to conducting studies that serve the development of Saudi families and enhance their roles.
