His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labor Sector, Dr. Abdullah Abu Thnunin, inaugurated the third meeting of the Employment Working Group today, Wednesday, 29 Dhu al-Hijjah, 1441 AH, corresponding to 19 August 2020 AD, with the participation of member states in the G20 countries and the presence of relevant international organizations through visual communication. The meeting will continue for two consecutive days.
His Excellency the Undersecretary for Labor Affairs and General Supervisor of the G20 Unit, Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Chairman of the Employment Working Group, explained that this meeting comes as an extension of the previous meetings held at the level of senior officials in the G20 member states in preparation for the ministerial meeting scheduled to be held on September 10 under the chairmanship of His Excellency Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi.
It should be noted that the Ministry heads the Employment Working Group in the G20 countries for this year and has defined the following priorities: better preparation of young people for the labor market, keeping pace with social protection of changing work patterns, and using behavioral sciences in labor market policies. In addition to the topic of the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic on the local and international labor markets and means of recovery.
