H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis met last Tuesday with Mr. Frank Hagemann, deputy regional director and director of Decent Work Team (DWT) at the International Labour Organization (ILO), alongside his accompanying delegation. During the meeting that took place at the MLSD headquarters in Riyadh, the two sides addressed several issues of common interest and explored ways to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom and the organization along with developing its mechanisms, in addition to benefiting from the ILO experiences in labor and social development fields. Dr. Al-Ghafis and the ILO official discussed spreading awareness of labor education, development of national workforce and integration among related entities in the area of occupational safety and health (OSH). Additionally, they were engaged in talks to support entrepreneurship and small business grants for persons with disabilities, as well as educating the community to help orphans find suitable job opportunities, laying out a national strategy for family, enhancing social dialogue and upskilling of workers in the field.
