H.E. Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with H.E. the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dr. Sahil Babaiv today Tuesday 13 July 2021 during a virtual meeting.
The signing was attended by H.E. Vice Minister, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, and the Deputy Minister for International Affairs, Dr. Adnan bin Abdullah Alnuaim from HRSD’s side. The Azerbaijani side included Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mr. Shahin Abdullayev, the Head of the International Relations Department, Mrs. Irada Osupova, and Mrs. Nigar Mammadova, the Head of the Protocol Unit.
This MOU aims to enhance cooperation in the development of labor market policies, exchange of relevant legislative and regulatory documents, as well as exchange of experiences and information, and coordinating joint positions on matters of mutual interest at the international fora. This is the first agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in the labor field.
This agreement comes in line with HRSD’s strategic objective to build constructive partnerships on an international level with different ministries and sectors that share common services and scope of work, in order to exchange knowledge and expertise, and become more acquainted with the best international practices that would contribute to achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
